Rare scenery, that more than 3,000 seating’s were filled up with the TVXQ fans at the Seoul world sect, "Sejong Cultural Center" where a performance of the musical "Mozart" was opened on the 26th. The place was filled with the TVXQ fans to watch the TVXQ member Kim Junsu (stage name Xiah Junsu) who played the leading role of the musical Mozart on this day.

Even a ticket tout appeared to sell the ticket to women fans of around the age of 20 years old. This is the first musical appearance for Mr. Kim. And the first stage performance was predicted to appear to be the concert place of TVXQ.

The fans hurried up to take the first hand photos of Mr. Kim at the Sejon Cultural Center lobby on this day,
and also every time Mr. Kim finished singing during his musical performance, the fans gave him great cheers.
The fans even raised their voice yelling “AH!” when the scene where Mr. Kim kissed with the co-star, 콘스탄체.

EMK musical production company appointed 35 male guards for an advance sale confirmation and the ticket confirmation for this performance.
Only the fans that brought advance sale confirmation letter messages were able to enter the lobby area.
EMK set the entrance area restrictions into consideration to secure the security of Mr. Kim and the audiences.
They will take the same step for a performance on the 28th and they will make it public in the near future
to clarify their security majors for the future performances.

Mr. Kim is also appearing in Mozart at Taegu performance, (from February 26 to March 7) for five times,
and the server was downed at the time of the ticket sell on the 13th for the massive interest of the fans to purchase the advance sale ticket.

'Earned Sales Of 4 Billion Won'

TVXQ's Xiah Junsu has increased sales by approximately 4 billion Won ($3.5 million).
 
Xiah Junsu will take on the lead role of Mozart in the musical 'Mozart!'. 'Mozart!' opened at the Seoul Sejong Cultural Center on the 20th.

Many in the domestic musical industry are saying that "'Mozart!' already had the money needed to cover the productions costs even before it had its first show." The total production costs for 'Mozart!' is around 4 billion Won. There is no other way to explain this situation other than the 'Xiah Junsu phenomenon'.

Calculating the Ticket Sales
There are 4 people who will play the role of Mozart and they are Xiah Junsu, Park Gun Hyung, Lim Tae Gyung and Park Eun Tae. They will be rotating every day for the performance. As soon as ticket reservations were open to the public, the number of tickets left on the nights that Xiah Junsu was scheduled to perform quickly depleted till they all reached '0'.

The Sejong Cultural Center's theater has 3000 seats. 452 VIP seats, 890 R seats, 538 S seats, 482 A seats, 362 B seats, and 256 C seats. The price for the tickets range from 20,000 Won ($18) to 120,000 Won ($106) on weekdays.

In the case that a show is performed on a weekday, one performance brings in 234.8 million Won ($ 206,000). On weekends, each performance brings in 264.6 million Won ($233,000). As Xiah Junsu is scheduled to perform in 8 weekday shows and 7 weekend shows, he is bringing in sales of 3,730,600,000 Won ($3.28 million).

There are also the provincial performances to consider. There will be shows in Daegu and Suwon and currently, Xiah Junsu is confirmed to perform in Daegu. There are 1954 seats in the Daegu Gaemyung Art Center. Xiah Junsu will perform in five weekend shows in Daegu. If the amount earned each night in Seoul is multiplied by two-thirds to find the revenue in Daegu, Xiah Junsu would still have earned 'Mozart!' 850 million Won ($747,000) in ticket sales.

If both these amounts are added, it totals in at 4,580,600,000 Won ($4.03 million). If Xiah Junsu decides to perform in more provincial shows, this number will rise. EMK Musical Company, that is in charge of 'Mozart!', seems to be expecting sales of side products such OST CDs and pamphlets to rise rapidly as well.

100120 Xiah Junsu Received Emergency Treatment For A Viral Infection

It was found that Xiah Junsu was once hospitalized for a viral infection.

Xiah Junsu was said to have received emergency treatment at a hospital in Gangnam after feeling unwell on the morning of the 18th. Xiah Junsu had been suffering from pain and vertigo from the day before but visited the hospital the next day when the pain became unbearable.

A representative of Xiah Junsu stated, "As he was not feeling well, we were going to go to an emergency room at a big hospital, but we thought there might be too many people there so he was hospitalized at a close hospital. We were told by the doctors that he had contracted a viral infection from an accumulation of fatigue."

Xiah Junsu rested that day as he received a blood test and was put on an IV. It was found that he had gotten the viral infection from fatigue and not a disease. After hearing from an early diagnosis that he did not contract any big diseases, Xiah Junsu decided to leave the hospital that night on the 18th.

The representative also said, "The hospital urged him to be hospitalized for at least a week and receive treatment as well as rest. As the diagnosis was one in the early stages, a thorough examination is needed. However, if Xiah Junsu was hospitalized for a week, it would cause problems with rehearsals for his musical that starts at the end of this month, so he decided that he had to leave the hospital."

After staying at home to rest, Xiah Junsu went back to his musical rehearsals on the 19th. As his body had not fully recovered, he decided to continue on with rehearsals while taking medication for his body. As his first performance is scheduled to be on the 26th, there isn't much time left for him to rehearse.

Xiah Junsu will be playing the role of genius musician Wolfgang Mozart in the musical . Xiah Junsu is said to have said, "This is my first try at acting. I heard that the fans have high expectations. Although my health is not at its best, I want to give them the best performance that I can."

Xiah Junsu, who is debuting as an actor in the musical 'Mozart!', showed his ticket power when reservations for the Daegu performance began on the 13th.

The 3 TVXQ members first trip together is to prepare for their own activities?

3 TVXQ members who have been in conflict with SM Entertainment regarding exclusive contract issue, Hero Jaejoong, Xiah Junsu, and Micky Yoochun recently took a trip to Australia together.

On the 4th, they went to Sydney Australia to take a break and go for a tour to popular tourist attractions in entire city including the Opera House, before coming back on the 7th.

This is the first time these three people went on vacation after the lawsuit regardless the schedule from SM Entertainment.

The three TVXQ members refrained that they had their actual solo activities through the latest traveling of theirs, saying that they just went for a re-charge and also to set up some plans for the upcoming activities in this new year.

However, the trip that was supposed to be enjoyable for the TVXQ members was getting a bit inconvinient as their fans kept gathering on the spots they went after the news of them going to Sydney spread.

According to officials, even just after Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun arrived at Sydney airport, there had always been a long line of fans following them even to hotel.

Regarding this trip to Sydney, some people argued that this was made for a pictorial photography. The evidence was a photography camera that was spotted when they arrived at airport, also couple of pictures taken by fans and spread through internet about a photoshoot that was taken on a boat with famous Sydney Harbor Bridge as the background.

Yet the 3 TVXQ members representative explained, “It was a pure vacation, there wasn’t any other purpose.” he continued, “The members going to Sydney Australia is also no more than this one time.”

Meanwhile, while the music career of 3 TVXQ members laid off for a while, it’s expected that they will start active again in near future through acting.

According to 3 members TVXQ acquaintance, currently the 3 members have received proposals to appear in drama and movies. There are already some request for them from drama and film production company, and now the members are in process of selecting scenarios, scripts, and many others.

Xiah Junsu himself will raise up stage for musical ‘Mozart!’ at Sejong Cultural Centre, Seoul and his final appearance will show off on February 20th.

Musicals 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Empress Myeongseong', 'Hairspray' and 'Chicago'. What is the similarity between these unique musicals? Extravagance. And that extravagance existed because of make-up artist Kim Yoo Sun.

"I prefer musicals because they are more extravagant and larger in scale than plays," says Kim Yoo Sun and he has been put in charge of make-up for the musical [Mozart!] that is "a position any make-up artist would envy."

This was his first official interview so he was shy at first but he showed his unique love and pride for wigs throughout the interview. We met with the man who has lived since November buried in the 200 or so wigs that are to be used in Mozart!

[FACC] A Cruise with Junsu XD

100107 A Cruise with Junsu and Meeting JaeChun and Yoohwan

So I'll try and get the boring stuff asap. Basically, I got to Circular Quay at 8:40am and there was one other TVXQaus member there (Emily). We chatted for a while and took a walk nearby a hotel because we didn't know where they were staying. We came back and few more people arrived. We waited until 9:30am before actually started out our plan. We basically split up into a few groups and each covered different areas (darling harbour, circular quay, different hotels, townhall, fishmarket, QVB). I was taking the circular quay area with my group (Emily, Sam and I--to start off with) and another group (Let's call them group A) went to check out some nearby hotels.

We set out at 9:40am and we started walking towards the harbour bridge and a person from group A called me, telling me that she sees Junsu at the Rocks and so we literally ran for our lives to the Rocks and then she calls me again, telling me that he is lining up for a cruise. We literally died because we were right next to the lining up place for the cruises when she called us the first time. So we ran all the way back to the lining up place for the cruises and we saw him, surrounded by staff and cameramen/manager, and he was obviously boarding onto the cruise. Group A was kind of standing afar, just waving to him but we didn't even think twice and bought 3 tickets for the cruise. It was a two hour cruise and basically went around the harbour.

Anyway, the three of us got onto the cruise and met another nice girl, a Junsu fan/chinese Cass, and we kind of merged together. We all sat at the bottom deck for the time being because we all kind of ran everywhere and needed to regain our sanity. We sat there for a few minutes telling each other that Junsu was ACTUALLY above us. After calming down, we went upstairs and I nearly gasped because he was JUST to our right eating breakfast (and camera in his face too). We weren't allowed to take pictures or videos for anything at all...but I managed to do some ninja shots for Junsu.

Anyway, the cruise provided morning tea and he and the staff went inside to eat some of the food they provided. We did not disturb them at all, we just watched from a distance.

I wasn't able to sleep the whole night out of excitement, departed at 630am, and waited from 7am to 10am. Luckily that there weren’t a lot of fans there, around 50 of them were there (from Korea, China, Thailand, etc.).

Everyone got their cameras ready, and suddenly all the Korean Cassies started screaming for a second and everyone rushed over to where the screams were coming from. JaeJoong must have thought that there wouldn't be anyone waiting and walked out from the arrival hall, but ran back in after he heard the screams. Everyone was excited! The manager first walked out and had a conversation with the tourists and checked the transport arrangements and stuff before going back to where JaeSuChun were. Korean Cassies ran over to their manager and he said no picture taking~ All the fans then kept their cameras~

When JaeJoong, JunSu and YooChun walked out from the arrival hall, they were all happy and high, YooChun even took out his DV and recorded down the surroundings and everyone. A Korean Cassies managed to pass a flower and letter to JunSu! JaeJoong walked through the pathway to where their car was! YooChun even waved to us and said GOODBYE~

100106 Kim Junsu Sets New Record - All 15 "Mozart!" Performances Sold Out

TVXQ's Xiah Junsu (Kim Junsu) created a new record in the acting industry.

All the dates for Kim Junsu's performances in the musical "Mozart!", where he plays the lead character, have been sold out. Kim Junsu will be acting in 15 of the 41 performances and in a short span of time, all 45,000 tickets have been sold out.

When news came out that Kim Junsu would has been confirmed for the role, it could already be seen that his "power" was beyond that of others. During the first ticket sales, his fans bought 6,000 tickets in under an hour, and not only did all the tickets sell out within two hours when the second ticket sales started, his fans also caused the site to crash. During the third and fourth sales, although tickets to Kim Junsu's performances were sold at a different time, all the tickets sold out under three hours, despite slow internet speed due to high traffic.

This is a situation that has not been seen in a long time, even with Jo Seung Woo performing. Although other artists from Super Junior (Kangin, Heechul, Yesung, Sungmin), Girls' Generation (Jessica), Big Bang (Daesung, Seungri) and FT Island (Hongki, Jaejin) participated in musicals, such tremendous results were not seen.

A musical actor needs to have the ability to dance, sing and act all at the same time, and doubts that were raised over the choice of Kim Junsu, an idol singer who does not have any experience in musicals, were eradicated by this evidence of Kim Junsu's ticket power.

Sell-out ticket sales is not the only benefit of having an idol star participate. Because of Kim Junsu, those in their teens and twenties are more concerned about "Mozart!" and there is a growing interest in musicals. "Mozart!", the most highly anticipated production for the first half of 2010, will be performed at the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts from 20 January until 20 February 2010.

It has been observed that Korean music is being used as a product to attract Japanese tourists, and the Korean musical 'Mozart!' has garnered the most attention.

The tourists who come to appreciate Korean music not only get to participate in performances in Seoul by K-pop artists, but also get a chance to experience Korea's cultural performances.

On 28 December 2009, with the headline "Most Attention Drawn To Korean Musical In 2010" (T/N: Translated according to the Japanese headlines), the poster, cast photos and holiday schedules for 'Mozart!' were published on the front page of a Japanese newspaper.

The article discussed the collaboration between the Japanese media and the Korean Tourism Agency through the musical 'Mozart!', as well as useful topics on Korea's tourism industry like shopping, beauty and food. It also stated that the musical garnered a lot of attention because TVXQ member, Junsu, who is extrememly popular in Japan, was casted in the musical.

Not only in Korea, there are also a lot of people in Japan who have shown interest in the musical 'Mozart!'

Comprising of a 28 person strong classical orchestra, impressive stage design and more than 500 extravagant costumes, the musical will kick off on 20 January 2010, at the Sejong Cultural Center Grand Theater.
