[NEWS] Avex Contract Expires this June

100103 TVXQ's Japanese Contract Expires In June... What Comes Next?

Amidst the chaos that has erupted amongst fans due to a Japanese newspaper's claim that TVXQ is on the brink of officially disbanding, TVXQ's Japanese agency AVEX has released its official statement.

On the 3rd, Nikkan Sports reported that "TVXQ's plans of performing as five have not changed," quoting TVXQ's Japanese agency AVEX.

However, it has been said that TVXQ's contract with their Japanese agency AVEX expires this coming June. If it is decided to not extend the contract, TVXQ's future in Japan looks uncertain.

At the moment, Choikang Changmin and U-Know Yunho who have decided to stay in SM and YoungWoong Jaejoong, Mikcy Yoochun and Xiah Junsu who have left SM are all engrossed in their own individual activities.

The five of them did appear at the end of the year awards in Japan such as NHK's Kouhaku Uta Gassen, the fact that the three members' request against SM Entertainment was partially accepted by the Courts and the fact that this dispute has led to emotional fights and information leaks between the two sides has led to the conclusion that it is impossible to further any domestic activities at this point.

The problem is whether the three members' side and SM's side will extend their contract with AVEX in June. It can said that neither side can ignore this problem as TVXQ's currently soaring popularity in Japan has reaped in great economic profit.

Some are seeing this issue in a positive light that TVXQ's activities in Japan may be keeping an option open to a agreeable compromise to the TVXQ dispute in the long run.
